About The Position

Markon is seeking a Security Specialist to support our client’s operational requirements on a mission-focused program within a challenging and dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8–12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6–10 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Special Access Program (SAP), Controlled Access Program (CAP), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security procedures.
  • Strong background in information, industrial, and personnel security principles and practices.
  • Proven ability to develop, analyze, and evaluate security programs to meet mission requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to resolve complex challenges and develop guidance documentation.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with or within the Intelligence Community (IC).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security programs.
  • Process CAP/SAP requests from the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD); brief Control Officers; maintain program records and files; update SOPs and briefings as needed; and serve as liaison between the PMO and CAP/SAP team.
  • Provide expert recommendations on personnel security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Draft security requirements and implementation guidance to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Assess security programs to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare for and participate in security working groups and interagency forums, including coordination and event logistics.
  • Conduct or facilitate training sessions and technical or administrative briefings for government and contractor personnel.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for security programs.
  • Prepare staff and facilities for government security audits.
  • Conduct security reviews of acquisition packages and update document classifications as required.
  • Deliver security briefings to personnel and support visitor management processes.
  • Process 4311 documents and provide administrative support for visitor access requests.
