Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) has been a technology development and manufacturing leader of infrared systems for over 70 years, and it continues to be one of the industry stakeholders in the production of high-tech vision products for a variety of space, tactical and commercial applications. RVS is seeking an experienced Program Quality Engineer to implement and develop quality engineering and customer quality flow-down requirements throughout the proposal and program life cycle, at our factory located in Goleta, CA. This is an onsite position.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and two (2) years of experience in Quality, Engineering or Operations.
  • Working experience with Quality Management Systems such as: ISO 9001, AS9100.
  • Working experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodology, systems, and resources.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Working experience in Industry and Government Quality Requirements and Standards.
  • Infrared industry, semiconductor processing or DoD industry experience.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Experience with statistical and metrics software (e.g., Tableau, Minitab).
  • Experience with factory systems and software (e.g., SAP, Windchill).
  • Working experience in predictive and proactive measures, metrics assessments, and actions to improve performance or mitigate problems.
  • Experience leading, assisting, and/or mentoring others in routine settings and difficult situations.
  • Experience collaborating with program team members to develop practical solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Create or tailor existing quality planning to administer customer and internal quality requirements.
  • Implement Quality Engineering responsibilities as a member of a program integrated product team (IPT).
  • Ensure programmatic and technical risks are identified, contained, and managed throughout each phase of business pursuit and program implementation.
  • Ensure Quality Engineering engagement in program development, design, test requirements and verification, including the transition of design to production.
  • Guide multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on 8D, Six Sigma, Lean practices and other critical thinking improvement methods and resources.
  • Manage the completion of Internal First Article Inspections (FAI's).
  • Guide business and program performance utilizing predictive and proactive measures and metrics.
  • Maintain positive relationships with program administration, cross-functional program stakeholders, suppliers, customers, and government representatives.
