About The Position

Lockheed Martin (LM) Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) is seeking a Quality Engineer (QE) for a position based out of Orlando, FL. This program is a fast-paced development environment requiring technical acumen and critical thinking. What You Will Be Doing Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer. Supports Integrated Product Teams and various production sites with reviews of quality data on failures, yields, rework, scrap, and non-conformance aging. Ability to analyze and resolve design, manufacturing, and process issues varying from basic to very complex and technically challenging. Attending program corrective action meetings, identifying trends, assisting in problem resolution and ensuring responsible parties meet requirements and commitments. Participating in Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence. Performing assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001 / AS9100. Evaluating the design assurance activities and implementation of production process methodology to prevent impacts to production velocity and quality. Interfacing with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality related issues. Utilizing lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement. Making the final decision on acceptability of product. Supporting Quality operations within a Lab Environment in which products are being manufactured, tested, and delivered to end customers. Requirements

  • STEM degree at the bachelors level or higher, preferably in a Technical, Industrial or Quality Assurance related field or equivalent experience/education
  • Must be able obtain a Secret level security clearance
  • Engineering or Quality experience developing methods, work instructions and procedures for inspection of manufactured products
  • An understanding of engineering drawings requirements mechanical and electrical inspection methods
  • Ability to interpret Drawings, Specifications, Contracts that will enable development and review of QE Processes, and related Performance Metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to use casual analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
  • Experience in dispositioning of non-conforming products
  • Awareness of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Knowledge of Configuration and Data Management
  • Ability to travel 25%-50%
