What You Will Be Doing As the Quality Engineer you will be responsible for interfacing with Production, Shop Floor Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering, investigating non conformance issues, organizing and tracking hardware quality audits and FAIs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • STEM degree in Bachelors or higher, or equivalent experience
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Experience solving complex problems associated with the quality of products and in Quality Management processes / capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems
  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • STEM degree in Bachelors or higher preferred
  • Previous quality experience in reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
  • Experience with control and disposition of non-conforming Material (Material Review Board)
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification or ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration
  • Effective communication skills - written, oral, listening, and presentation
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • SAP / ERP, SharePoint and Tableau or other business intelligence software experience
  • Strong familiarity with Production Operations
  • Experience with Program Office / Customer Interaction, preferably DOD
  • An understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Thorough understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with Technical Operations, Manufacturing, and all other stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Interfacing with Production, Shop Floor Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering and customers.
  • Lead investigations of non conformance issues and Provide technical data and analysis to support engineering investigations and root cause/corrective preventive actions.
  • Drive closure of non conformance reports, and contribute to Corrective Action Board meetings.
  • Engage in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action.
  • Organizing and tracking Hardware Quality Audits (HQAs) and First Article Inspections (FAIs)
  • Participating in product, process, and surveillance audits/assessments to identify improvement opportunities
  • Leading corrective/preventive actions based on findings and look ahead activities
  • The position requires previous quality engineering experience in developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the development of manufactured and procured products.
  • Individual should be a self-starter, with an attention to detail, who can work autonomously with minimal direction in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Duties may include: Performance at suppliers of scheduled product source inspections, first articles, and product validations as outlined by AS9102 and applicable company and industry standards.
  • Support Supplier requests tied to program requirements, interface with customer needs and program management activities Participate (as required) in supplier's failure/diagnosis and Material Review Board(MRB) activities.
