About The Position

The Program Quality Engineer II is responsible for ensuring the quality of aerospace and defense programs by leading quality assurance activities, including process development, audits, and root cause analysis. This position involves working closely with project teams to identify and resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience (or 1+ with a related Master’s degree) in a quality engineering role within the aerospace and defense industry.
• Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
• Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
• Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and methodologies.
• Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other applicable Military and statutory Standards and Specifications.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Ability to analyze and interpret quality data and metrics.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
• U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.
• Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
• Black Belt Certification in Six Sigma.
• Experience with statistical analysis and quality tools.
• Familiarity with supplier quality management practices.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to the aerospace and defense industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality assurance processes and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
• Lead inspections and audits of manufacturing processes and products to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyze quality data to identify trends and generate reports that highlight areas for improvement.
• Lead and participate in customer and regulatory audits, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, to resolve quality issues and support project goals.
• Train and mentor junior quality engineers and quality inspectors on quality processes and best practices.
• Manage non-conformance reports and coordinate with relevant teams for disposition activities.
• Support supplier quality management activities, including supplier audits and assessments.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
