About The Position

This position is responsible for recruiting, assessing, placing, and supporting program participants. The position performs administrative and supervisory program work involving establishing program goals and objectives; developing program guidelines, procedures, and policies; developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving program goals; monitoring and evaluating program activities; developing and assessing budget requests; and coordinating program activities. Supervises the work of others.

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to the program area, as well as public administration and management techniques, statistical analysis processes, budgeting processes, research techniques, training and marketing strategies, and program management processes and techniques.
  • Skill in identifying measures or indicators of program and staff performance, and the use of a computer and applicable software.
  • Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; to establish goals and objectives; to devise solutions to administrative problems; to develop, evaluate, and interpret administrative policies and procedures; and to supervise the work of others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Rehabilitation, or related human services field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in program management or a supervisory role, preferably in a non-profit or educational setting.
  • Experience working with youth, particularly those with disabilities or barriers to employment.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously under minimal supervision.
  • Professional demeanor, with a capacity to handle confidential information sensitively and securely.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish/ French-Creole is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct community outreach and develop outreach plans to inform and engage potential participants and partners about the program.
  • Coordinates and has direct responsibility for a project or specific set of tasks related to a function, program, department/business unit.
  • Supervises the work of staff within a program area and provides training and technical assistance in the program area.
  • Oversees and/or prepares program management and productivity reports and studies.
  • Oversees and participates in planning, organizing, and coordinating assigned activities and operations within a major program area.
  • Oversees the preparation of and evaluation of program budget requests.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of program guidelines, procedures, and policies; and monitors compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Establishes program goals and objectives; develops and approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals; and oversees program evaluation activities.
  • May prepare and conduct seminars and presentations about assigned program area(s) for citizens, clients, staff, management, or elected officials.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, community groups, and third-party agencies.
  • Collect and report data on participant progress and program outcomes, working closely with the Data Coordinator.
  • Represent and promote the program and the organization proactively in various settings, building a qualified pipeline of partners and participants.
  • Monitors safety and ensures adherence to regulatory safety requirements.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Ensure all outcome measurements are satisfied per requirements and assist in ensuring all quality standards are met and reviewed quarterly.
  • Assists with accreditation/certification activities, participates in accreditation/certification reviews, and provides in-service staff training.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, developing, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; assisting with Leave of Absence coordination when applicable.
  • Conduct monthly case staffing to ensure ongoing progress is being made on participants’ case plan goals.
  • Comply with the agency’s policy and procedures, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, SourceAmerica, and APD/Medwaiver standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
