The In-N-Out Burger Community Engagement Team has an excellent opportunity for a Program Officer II in the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation, out of our Irvine, CA office. This position will report to the Foundation Supervisor and will support In-N-Out Burger's Slave 2 Nothing Foundation. The Program Officer II is responsible for supporting strategic grant-making and community engagement by assessing grantees, creating advocacy programs, and managing fund allocation to enhance the Foundation's impact and visibility. The Slave 2 Nothing Foundation was established to educate and support nonprofits working to eliminate human trafficking, as well as focus on those fighting substance abuse.

  • Conduct assessments of potential grantees, including performing due diligence to ensure alignment with the Foundation's mission and priorities.
  • Develop and contribute to programs that advocate for priority causes and enhance community awareness, in collaboration with senior staff.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Communications, and Project Management teams to contribute to and refine community engagement strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations to foster partnerships and support long-term collaboration.
  • Contribute significantly to the planning and execution of events, projects, and special initiatives, ensuring alignment with Foundation and company goals.
  • Participate in site visits to build relationships with non-profits and evaluate their programs for potential funding.
  • Manage parts of the grant-making process by conducting detailed reviews and making informed grant recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Assist in managing the responsible allocation of Foundation funds, ensuring effective use of resources and maximized impact.
  • Track and document success stories, support fundraising initiatives, and engage with stakeholders to elevate the Foundation's visibility and impact.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
  • Certification in Grant Management, Grant Writing, Project Management, or Nonprofit Management is a plus.
  • Minimum 6 years of nonprofit management experience, with a focus on grant making or a related field.
  • Experience in strategic planning, relationship building, and advocacy within the nonprofit sector.
  • Direct service experience in substance abuse recovery and a strong commitment to supporting this community.
  • Proven ability to lead community engagement initiatives.
  • Strong communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and resource management abilities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with adaptability to change.
  • High emotional intelligence and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Digital literacy and proficiency with nonprofit CRM, project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello), and Microsoft Office Suite.
