About The Position

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world's leading conservation organizations, seeks a Program Officer, Global Environment Facility (GEF). The Program Officer will oversee GEF-funded environmental initiatives in Latin America and Southern Africa, including biodiversity, safeguards, and gender inclusion. The role involves advising governments on GEF projects, ensuring Free, Prior, and Informed Consent for indigenous communities, managing budgets, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in International Relations, Environmental Policy, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience working for a large international conservation NGO.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating GEF projects.
  • Experience providing technical advice to national governments on developing GEF funding proposals.
  • Experience designing Stakeholder Engagement Plans and Gender Action Plans.
