About The Position

Reporting to the the Senior Program Officer for Initial Resettlement, the Program Officer will ensure the Global Refuge network is in full compliance with the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) Program of Initial Resettlement (PIR) requirements. This work will be carried out through monitoring and evaluation activities, site visits, training and technical assistance, resource development, report writing and expert programmatic support. This role will provide comprehensive technical support to the Global Refuge network that uphold ORR and Global Refuge standards. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in social work, social sciences, non-profit management or related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in services to refugees, immigrants or limited English speakers.
  • Experience in interpreting contract compliance, developing and delivering training and providing technical assistance to service providers and staff.
  • Strong writing skills, with ability to write and edit reports and clearly interpret technical requirements.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to details.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with colleagues and partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, knowledge in database management and other computer applications.
  • Deep commitment to Global Refuge's core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with the refugee resettlement programs such as Reception and Placement, Matching Grant and/or Preferred Communities programs, strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate Global Refuge programs for compliance with ORR requirements.
  • Utilize Excel, database systems and other tools to regularly inform programmatic trends and areas in need of improvement.
  • Assist with the development of program monitoring tools and processes.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to the Global Refuge network of affiliates on timely and relevant programmatic areas and trends.
  • Contribute to the creation of helpful resource materials to be disseminated to affiliate partners on the Global Refuge extranet.
  • Contribute to funder reporting and compliance activities as required by program guidelines, as well as grant proposals as needed.
  • Extensively coordinate and conduct affiliate on-site and remote monitoring and site visits that involve meeting with various stakeholders; reviewing program case files; interviewing affiliate staff, program clients, and service providers; and reviewing affiliate statistical information.
  • Write detailed site visit reports, including recommendations and action plans related to making substantive program improvements to service delivery, documentation and/or reporting.
  • Implement Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) as needed providing additional support to affiliates in need.
  • Work collaboratively with departments within Global Refuge and external partners to learn and share resources and best practices.
  • Execute other duties as assigned by supervisor.
