About The Position

This position resides in the Business & Income Taxes Division of Department of Revenue. The incumbent processes claims and provide other support services for the Unclaimed Property Program. They provide program(s) expertise, coordination, and services for a program manager or executive. They plan, implement, and evaluate local, statewide, or community program activities as directed by a program manager or executive. They may specialize in one or more aspects of an assigned program. The position does not supervise other staff.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of: Mathematics, Bookkeeping and basic accounting principles and procedures, Department policies and procedures, Data processing and records management systems, Accounting procedures and treasury requirements, State and federal rules and laws, Investigative methods and procedures
  • Skills in: Customer service, Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, Deductive and inductive reasoning abilities to solve problems, Researching and analyzing data from multiple sources, Analyzing various financial, technical, and legal documents, Accuracy and attention to detail, Conflict resolution, Microsoft programs and other data base applications
  • Ability to: Demonstrate self-motivation, Prioritize work and manage time effectively, Follow instructions, Provide timely, customer service, Handle multiple priorities under deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, business administration, or public administration supplemented by college coursework in accounting.
  • No prior work experience is required.
  • Other combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.
