About The Position

The School of Architecture and Planning is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Program Manager to support the growing portfolio of research initiatives of our research centers. This position works closely with the Directors and Principal Investigators of the School’s research centers, including: · Design and Planning Assistance Center (DPAC) · Indigenous Design and Planning Institute (iD+Pi) · Predock Center for Design and Research (PCD+R) The Program Manager, in collaboration with the School’s Faculty Research Support Officer, plays a key role in research development, sponsored project administration, program and event coordination, and general operational support. Time will be shared among the research centers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • at least 6 years of experience 2 of which are management level experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in architecture, planning, landscape architecture, or closely related field
  • Six (6) years of experience in research project administration and sponsored programs
  • Knowledge of UNM restricted and unrestricted accounting policies and procedures
  • Experience in community engaged scholarship and practice
  • Experience with university administrative systems, including:

  • EPAF
  • Effort Certification
  • PCard

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Center Directors and Principal Investigators on project development and administration of research contracts, grants, and awards.
  • Assist with proposal preparation
  • Prepare budget tracking and reporting for grants and contracts
  • Assist with post-award management
  • Create proposal checklists and manage agency submission portals
  • Communicate with funding agency contacts
  • Generate and submit final reports and required documentation
  • Facilitate program and event development for the research centers
  • Foster community partnerships and capacity-building initiatives
  • Support collaboration among partner consortiums
  • Assist with translation of research into practice
  • Contribute to talent and workforce development initiatives
  • Supervise and oversee student employees
  • Support students in managing collaborative research and programmatic projects
  • Attend on-campus and external meetings and events as needed
  • Participate in activities during and outside of regular work hours, when required
  • Provide general administrative and staff support for the research centers as needed
