A New Leaf's Faith House located in Glendale, Arizona, is a domestic violence / homeless shelter with 72-beds and 24-hour Emergency Shelter for women and children in crisis. Faith House provides: a crisis hotline, safe housing/meals, case management, domestic violence/life skills/parenting education, community resources and referrals, employment assistance/Workforce Access Point Site, financial literacy education/budget counseling and assistance with securing permanent housing. Salary: $54,080 Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm Location: Glendale, AZ

Requirements

  • High School or GED required.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in managing programs and/or the supervision of staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence and community resources/supports available.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the formulation, development, implementation and monitoring of direct services and programs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and experience with Trauma Informed Practice
  • Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation
  • Current Auto Liability Insurance
  • 39 Month Motor Vehicle Record
  • Must Be At Least 21 Years of Age

Responsibilities

  • Role model appropriate behaviors to clients in the shelter, and program staff at all times, utilizing trauma informed principles and practices
  • Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate staff to meet program needs, Goal setting will encourage ongoing professional growth and expectations focused on personal strengths of the individual.
  • (A) Be responsible for the overall operations of the shelter program through trauma informed approaches to: physical environment client centered care/services and staff support and supervision.
  • (B) Demonstrate cultural humility through awareness of culturally responsive supports for clients and staff.
  • Schedule and monitor staff workload ensuring staff are completing their job description activities timely and effectively while adhering to the agency code of conduct.
  • Complete staff orientation checklists, competencies, and performance evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Effectively communicate program progress, activities and needs both verbally and through informal/formal communication.
  • Complete and submit all required reports, documentation, and narratives to Finance, Grants, or Contracts per process determined by each department and within the required timeframe.
  • Read through and utilize Arizona Best Practice Standards for specific service delivery at programs. Be knowledgeable of and maintain confidentiality laws in accordance with state/federal laws for crime victims.
  • Work with program staff to ensure that all documentation and paperwork required by funding agencies are completed accurately and in a timely fashion. Ensure data system is appropriate to program needs and staff have appropriate skills for data entry.
  • Build camaraderie through effective team building. Ensure information and communications are accurate and present a proper representation of A NEW LEAF.
  • Establish relationships with external partners and community organizations to build/maintain an agency/division-wide presence in the West Valley. Participate in activities and events as appropriate, representing agency/division services and resources.
