Shore Educational Collaborative is a multi-service agency serving people with disabilities. Shore’s Chelsea Adult Services Day Program provides day habilitation and community-based day services to adults with developmental disabilities and is seeking a Program Manager. This is a great management opportunity for a person whose experience working with adults with developmental disabilities has led to a genuine commitment to ensuring that adults with developmental disabilities have access to meaningful activities and connections in their lives, are treated respectfully, and have the opportunity to make decisions and choices to the greatest extent possible. You will work with the other program managers, interdisciplinary therapists, nurses, and the Program Coordinator to facilitate smooth program operations, good communication internally among all program staff, and externally with participants’ families and residential providers. You’ll have a role in the intake process for new referrals to the program, hiring staff, and ensuring policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to consistently and equitably.

  • Oversight of assigned group(s) of individuals and the staff who work with them, including ensuring daily activities are age-appropriate, meaningful, and aligned with individuals’ goals and interests
  • Providing staff supervision, training, and support
  • Completing/assuring completion of day habilitation and DDS service needs assessments, progress notes, and other required documentation
  • Providing direct services whenever it is needed
  • Facilitate smooth program operations, good communication internally among all program staff, and externally with participants’ families and residential providers
  • Role in the intake process for new referrals to the program
  • Hiring staff
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to consistently and equitably
  • At least two years of experience with adults with developmental disabilities
  • Some supervisory experience
  • Experience with the ISP/DHSP system
  • DDS regulations
  • Applied behavior analysis and principles of human rights
  • Obtain and maintain certification in Shore's approved behavioral safety training program (Safety Care or equivalent)
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to collaborate and work as an effective member of a team
  • Implementing physical interventions
  • Assisting with lifts and transfers
  • Attending to direct care needs
  • Driving program vans
  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • This position is part of the Massachusetts State Retirement system.
