About The Position
This position is responsible for owning the AWS Supplier Health & Safety Assurance and Development Programs across the AWS supplier base worldwide. The Program Manager will work cross-functionally with suppliers, procurement, and operational teams to establish mechanisms and mental models for supplier selection, assurance, and development. The role ensures that hired suppliers meet AWS expectations, are effectively onboarded, and that their performance is monitored against key metrics. This is crucial for contributing to Amazon's mission of being Earth's Best Employer. The Program Manager will build and develop a global strategy for Supplier Health & Safety assurance and development. This includes developing strong working relationships with legal teams, business units, procurement teams, and operational Health & Safety teams. The role involves developing and deploying associated programs, tools, and dashboards to manage supplier Health & Safety performance across three procurement organizations. The Program Manager will also improve prequalification, requalification, and evaluation processes, providing performance data that drives year-over-year improvement. Additionally, the Program Manager will establish supplier onboarding mechanisms that guide suppliers through AWS Health & Safety management system expectations, covering leadership, planning, support, operational controls, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement. They will coordinate global efforts or campaigns to highlight suppliers who maintain high standards in Health & Safety and facilitate collaboration events to share best practices and lessons learned. The role also includes owning the Health & Safety management program for Vendor Management, ensuring global updates using PRFAQ, and equipping procurement teams with health and safety data for supplier business review sessions. In this role, the Program Manager will serve as the Health & Safety Program liaison for contractor outreach, communications, and with Amazon.com World Wide Operations Contract Risk Management Team. The position requires effective communication skills, as the Program Manager will interface with suppliers and internal partners, requiring diplomacy, patience, and tact to earn trust.
