About The Position

The Program Manager for the Pride Center at Florida International University (FIU) is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of programs and student services that support LGBTQIA+ communities. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, developing partnerships, and ensuring alignment with FIU's mission and strategic goals. The Program Manager will also supervise staff, coordinate events, and assess program effectiveness to enhance student engagement and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialization and four (4) years of related experience, or Master's degree in an appropriate specialization and two (2) years related experience.
  • Master's degree in student personnel, higher education administration, counseling, or a related field and at least four (4) years of professional experience working with LGBTQIA+ communities.
  • Considerable knowledge regarding the concerns and issues of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students is preferred.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience supervising a team or project.

  • Experience in program/event learning outcome development and assessment.
  • Knowledge of LGBTQIA+ community resources and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and implementation of programs and student services for the Pride Center.
  • Develop goals and objectives that align with FIU's mission and strategic goals.
  • Oversee university-wide student programs and events, including hiring, training, and supervising staff.
  • Support assessment and reporting functions for the department.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Pride Center, including program development and marketing.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships across campuses.
  • Advise on policy and procedure changes to enhance the Division of Academic and Student Affairs.
  • Create partnerships with Student Affairs and academic departments.
  • Represent the Pride Center at campus-wide meetings and committees.
  • Compile and produce publications related to LGBTQIA+ programs.
  • Assist with planning signature events for the Centers for Student Engagement.
  • Organize programs that promote LGBTQIA+ awareness and support.
  • Coordinate workshops and presentations on sexual and gender identity issues.
  • Manage program assessment and reporting processes.
  • Supervise professional staff and provide ongoing performance feedback.
