About The Position

The Program Manager of Study Abroad Outreach & Operations will be a key member of the Study Abroad team within the Office of Global Engagement at Louisiana State University. This position is responsible for enhancing global opportunities for students by managing study abroad outreach, events, and communications, while also overseeing the Terra Dotta system to ensure efficient processes and data integrity. The Program Manager reports to the Director of Study Abroad and works closely with faculty, staff, and campus partners to advance LSU’s internationalization goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with three years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Terra Dotta system administration and integration.
  • Proven record of collaboration with faculty and campus partners.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement study abroad fairs, information sessions, orientations, re-entry workshops, and recognition ceremonies.
  • Manage event logistics, including scheduling, venues, catering, vendor contracts, technology support, and staffing.
  • Assist the Director of Study Abroad in developing event budgets, timelines, and checklists to ensure effective resource management.
  • Create and implement event marketing strategies using print, digital, email, and social media campaigns.
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging in collaboration with the Director of Study Abroad.
  • Partner with faculty, student groups, and campus offices to expand visibility and participation.
  • Engage returned study abroad students in panels and peer-to-peer outreach.
  • Coordinate with external providers and international partners for event participation.
  • Track attendance, evaluate impact through surveys, and prepare reports with recommendations for improvements.
  • Align event programming with LSU’s broader global engagement and internationalization priorities.
  • Serve as primary administrator for Terra Dotta, overseeing configuration, updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage user roles, permissions, and security settings to ensure compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
  • Develop and maintain online applications, program brochures, workflows, and automated processes.
  • Monitor system performance, coordinate upgrades, and liaise with Terra Dotta support.
  • Oversee collection, storage, and reporting of student, faculty, and program data.
  • Generate statistical reports for institutional assessment and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate data integration with Workday and other campus systems.
  • Stay current on Terra Dotta enhancements and best practices through professional development.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient application process, including student forms, approvals, pre-departure requirements, preparing reports and developing surveys.
  • Assist Director of Study Abroad in the development and editing of user guides and FAQs for staff and advisors on best practices.
  • Streamline communications using Terra Dotta automations and advisor templates.
  • Collaborate with academic departments and Director & Assistant Director of Faculty Led Programs of Study Abroad to maintain accurate program listings and brochures.
  • Ensure compliance and consistency in program documentation and shared office resources.
  • Train staff and student workers on Terra Dotta and study abroad processes.
  • Provide ongoing technical and procedural support to end-users.
  • Work with IT, Registrar, Admissions, and other offices to ensure system integration and policy alignment.
  • Maintain up-to-date transfer credit, drop/add procedural information from college academic advisors.
  • Represent Study Abroad on committees and events related to technology, data systems, and other OGE events.
  • Attend a minimum of one professional international education conference or site visit per fiscal year.
