About The Position

The Program Manager for Major and Principal Gifts at Vanderbilt University Medical Center serves as the primary point of contact for the Major and Principal Gift team, managing confidential requests and executing daily operations of a significant fundraising program. This role involves planning, organizing, and managing resources and events to achieve the team's goals, while also providing analytical decision-making support and budgetary management for donor solicitations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 3 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with high-level executives
  • Ability to make independent decisions that impact the Medical Center
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to multi-task
  • Ability to handle crisis situations and perform well under pressure
  • Discretion and maintaining confidentiality is a must
  • Professional demeanor
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for the Major and Principal Gift team with internal and external constituents.
  • Prioritize and handle confidential requests using independent judgment and discretion.
  • Execute the daily work of the Major and Principal Gift program.
  • Plan, organize, and manage resources and events for the Major and Principal Gift team.
  • Use analytical decision making to manage priorities and initiatives of Major and Principal Gift Officers' work.
  • Monitor progress of priority prospects in conjunction with the Analytics and Strategic Initiatives team.
  • Provide budgetary management of donor solicitations and monitor fundraising results.
  • Manage calendaring, coordinate meeting materials, and create briefings for VUMC leadership.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and manage itineraries for Major and Principal Gift Officers.
  • Build professional relationships and collaborate with colleagues across the medical center.
  • Promote growth and expansion of the Major and Principal Gift program through donor pipeline activities.
  • Compile data for special projects and reports as needed.
  • Attend donor meetings/events as required.
