Role Summary The Program Manager, IT Portfolio and Delivery plays a critical role in translating Suffolk’s IT strategy into successful, well-aligned execution. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, business systems, and delivery, ensuring that priority initiatives are sequenced correctly, delivered effectively, and produce measurable business value. Approximately 30% of this role is focused on strategy and alignment—supporting roadmap development, portfolio coordination, and executive decision-making—while 70% is focused on program delivery, leading complex, cross-functional initiatives across enterprise platforms, system enhancements, and digital solutions. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable moving between big-picture thinking and hands-on delivery leadership, and who thrives in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8–12 years of experience leading or supporting technology programs in complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience spanning both strategy and delivery, with a stronger emphasis on execution.
  • Experience delivering enterprise platforms, system enhancements, and cross-functional programs.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with comfort interfacing with senior leaders.
  • Working knowledge of Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (Oracle, Microsoft, AWS) and integration concepts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with analytics, automation, or AI-enabled solutions is a plus.
  • PMP, PgMP, Agile, or Product certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of Suffolk’s integrated IT roadmap, translating strategic priorities into sequenced, executable programs.
  • Partner with senior leaders across IT, HR, Finance, Operations, and Data to align goals, scope, dependencies, and delivery timing.
  • Help shape annual and quarterly planning inputs, including initiative prioritization, capacity considerations, and vendor strategy.
  • Serve as a connective tissue between strategy, architecture, product, and delivery teams to ensure execution stays aligned to intent.
  • Contribute to portfolio-level discussions by surfacing tradeoffs, risks, and dependencies to support informed decision-making.
  • Help evaluate new ideas, platforms, and emerging technologies, bringing structure, clarity, and practical next steps.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex IT programs spanning enterprise platforms, system upgrades, digital workplace initiatives, custom solutions, and emerging technologies.
  • Translate strategic direction into clear delivery plans, roadmaps, milestones, and outcomes.
  • Coordinate delivery across multiple workstreams, teams, and vendors; actively manage dependencies and risks.
  • Oversee enhancements and rollouts for core enterprise platforms such as Oracle Cloud, Microsoft 365, analytics tools, and integrations.
  • Balance speed, stability, user experience, and risk when prioritizing delivery work.
  • Apply appropriate Agile or hybrid delivery approaches based on initiative complexity and maturity.
  • Ensure systems, integrations, and custom solutions work together seamlessly across the enterprise.
  • Apply governance standards related to architecture, security, compliance, and delivery practices.
  • Track delivery progress and outcomes using clear KPIs such as adoption, time-to-value, and business impact.
  • Facilitate steering discussions and working sessions to resolve issues early and maintain alignment.
  • Maintain transparent program tracking and reporting using tools such as Asana, Jira, or Smartsheet.
  • Partner with cybersecurity, data, and architecture teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and sustainable.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with business leaders, product owners, technical teams, and external partners.
  • Act as a calm, credible presence in complex or ambiguous delivery situations.
  • Coach teams on modern delivery practices, structured problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Support executives with clear, concise perspectives on progress, risks, tradeoffs, and investment decisions.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, curiosity, and outcome-focused delivery.
