The Program Manager II will be responsible for managing a CDC-funded, hospital and community-based quasi experimental study entitled: "Disrupting the Cycle: Expansion of a Novel Hospital-Based Violence Intervention in New Orleans." This study seeks to reduce rates of violent injury amongst people ages 16 to 34 years old. The position will consult with the Principal Investigators (PIs) on an evaluation plan and project timelines. The Program Manager will coordinate all research activities in the field, coordinate and facilitate meetings of research staff and community partners, as well as coordinating and facilitating data collection. Responsibilities also include supervising research assistants; this includes hiring, training, and supervising all students and staff persons responsible for different elements of the intervention and research. The Program Manager II will ensure that all intervention and data collection activities follow established protocols, conduct quality assurance checks of study and intervention activities, maintain confidentiality of data, coordinate communications with the team of faculty researchers and community partners, and work with data and technology specialists to best secure, manage, and analyze the data. Activities related to oversight of data collection will require frequent visits to University Medical Center and other community sites. The staff person will also have responsibility for overseeing grant-related expenditures and assuring that expenditures stay within budget.
