The Program Manager of Engineering Tools is a senior engineering position that focuses on delivering world-class asset management and strategy for a ~$125M+ portfolio of software developed and sustained for Gas Power Engineering and other Gas Power teams. The role’s primary scope includes serving as the Operational Program Manager of GPE’s largest portfolio of tools, encompassing over 1000 different engineering and enterprise applications, GPE’s overall Tools Strategy, and representative tool functionality collaboration for budget-driven needs. Additionally, the position owns GPE’s tool intake process, where annual business funding requests exceed $200M, to vet out planned and emergent software needs while pushing prioritization decisions that bring the funded tool portfolio into alignment with operational targets. The Program Manager will collaborate cross-functionally across Engineering, Operations, DT, Executive Leadership, Sourcing and Business Pillars to progress goals, such as engaging in contract negotiations with vendors, and pursuing holistic product road maps that optimize the tools Gas Power invests in. Role coverage includes taking part in GE Vernova-wide tool strategies where it makes sense and the potential to expand PM role assignment to other tool programs, like GPE’s Fixed Production Cost-funded AI tools.
