For over 125 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness. Early Childhood Development Centers provide free Head Start services to low-income families at no cost to the children ages 3 to 5 years. The high-quality services are offered in the center-based program settings available for the Brooklyn and Queens Communities.Through the Montessori approach, the centers ensure children are ready for school by providing a variety of developmentally appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, language-literacy, and physical development. The Head Start Program strives to actively engage parents, recognizing family participation throughout the program, as a key to a child’s robust development as well as to offer the learning experiences tailored to the changing needs and abilities of children. STATEMENT OF THE JOBThe Program Manager supervises all functional areas of program in Early Childhood Development, Family and Community Partnerships, and Program Design and Management. An applicant will be responsible to organize the work-related tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the center; facilitates parent involvement in all aspects of the program. The Program Manager implements the Agency, Board, Federal Head Start, DOH, Collaboration and Center policies, procedures, and regulations. An applicant complies with procedural norms and standards of attendance, punctuality, and confidentiality regulated by HIPPA.
