About The Position

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines. In this role, you will lead the design, construction, and delivery of data centers in the region of North America. You will require strong project management, communication skills and experience on large-scale construction projects within a fast-moving, dynamic environment. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical systems, mechanical systems, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, or networking/fiber.
  • 2 years of experience working with technical teams on data center or mission-critical facility construction projects.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience with mission-critical equipment/environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems).
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and an understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of design-build processes.
  • Knowledge of facility electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to gather requirements, organize resources, prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and achieve objectives within defined goals.
  • Excellent communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple data center projects from inception to completion, overseeing all phases, including concept development, design, construction, and deployment.
  • Gather and analyze internal requirements, translating them into solutions that meet the needs of our data center operations teams.
  • Work within a matrix organization, collaborating with cross-functional partners, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and opportunities to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Analyze and evaluate construction challenges, developing creative solutions that minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
