About The Position

The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish. Under the supervision of the Senior Director, with latitude for the exercise of independent action and decision making, the assigned staff member will receive, review, approve, and process Discretionary contracts for the sum of $5,000 or greater. The assigned staff will ensure accuracy as the Discretionary Quality Control & CD Ops Liaison (e.g., event tracking of completed budgets, insurance, provider diary entries). Prepare and input findings on DYCD databases and provide a weekly update report to the Senior Director of the unit. Assist CBOs that make requests or need technical assistance.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
  • All candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, approve, and process Discretionary contracts for the sum of $5,000 or greater.
  • Ensure accuracy as the Discretionary Quality Control & CD Ops Liaison (e.g., event tracking of completed budgets, insurance, provider diary entries).
  • Prepare and input findings on DYCD databases.
  • Provide a weekly update report to the Senior Director of the unit.
  • Assist CBOs that make requests or need technical assistance.
  • Check source documents accurately, thoroughly, and completely.
  • Ensure all Mandates and requirements comply.
  • Complete reviews within prescribed deadlines.
  • Follow up on incomplete/pending documents/referrals, by maintaining controls/requesting/reviewing additional information/records/making determinations, in order to finalize action on applications/confirm referrals.
  • Convey/obtain information clearly, accurate, and relevant.
  • Obtain/convey useful information/feedback on a timely basis.
  • Maintain a tactful and courteous manner.
  • Review initial and final documents, PASSPort contract documents, and service reports before processing in order to ensure compliance with agency requirements and Federal, State, or City mandates.
  • Maintain accurate, appropriate, and complete controls.
  • Note discrepancies accurately, clearly, and completely.
  • Ensure performance of contractors consistently meets agency standards/guidelines.
  • Thoroughly and completely review contracts, budgets, and monitoring documents prior to submission to the Supervisor.
  • Ensure entries/codes are complete, accurate, and legible.
  • Ensure entries are in logical sequence.
  • Make entries within prescribed deadlines.
