About The Position

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines. As part of the Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management (CSRM) Team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program for our Data Centers and Technical Infrastructure assets. Including: EHS management system, environmental compliance programs, safety compliance, health conformance and regional/site oversight. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with cross-functional teams within Google Data Center departments and contractors to identify and address EHS concerns, risk identification and mitigation. You help ensure the safety of the operations workforce, protection of the environment, and Google’s business. Furthermore, you will provide guidance with the implementation of new and critical EHS initiatives. Your efforts will contribute to the continuous improvement and iteration of our EHS programs. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 2 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) management systems or experience managing EHS compliance with environmental programs (e.g., emissions, wastewater, etc.).
  • 2 years of experience with data centers or mission critical facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certifications or credentials from Board of Certified Safety Professionals, NEBOSH or equivalent agency.
  • Experience communicating with AHJ’s (Federal, State, and Local Authorities) for notifications and permit conformance.
  • Experience with Electrical safety.

Responsibilities

  • Manage EHS programs and projects to improve business operations and technical aspects. Proactively identify, organize, and plan program activities and stakeholders in order to deliver business, operational, and technical improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) regulations, maintain permits, and monitor program Key Performance Indicators (KPI) performance.
  • Execute and manage site EHS compliance calendar tasks/requirements.
  • Evaluate incident data and track corrective/preventive actions to closure.
  • Organize and execute meetings, reports, and site plans (identify and assess operational EHS risks).
