About The Position

The Program Manager oversees housing and provides recovery case management for men in the Christ Recovery Center (CRC) program with limited supervision in alignment with UGMTC’s mission, vision, values, and goals. Works independently to oversee resident work assignments, execute day-to-day programming, guide residents through the recovery process, facilitate groups, supervise, and document resident progress. Supports the Program Director in the implementation of CRC program strategic goals to ensure access and positive outcomes for UGMTC residents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, Social Work or Psychology.
  • LADC or CADC, or currently enrolled/pursuing education for chemical dependency counseling.
  • Experience in case management, chemical dependency counseling, and working knowledge of 12 step program.
  • 2 years’ experience working with individuals experiencing mental health issues, homelessness, poverty, domestic violence, trauma or addiction in a residential shelter or transitional housing environment.
  • 1 year staff supervision experience.
  • Valid Driver’s license and excellent driving record.
  • 18 months of continuous sobriety.
  • Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with all policies and state and federal laws.
  • Conflict prevention, de-escalation, and resolution skills.
  • Organization, planning and administrative skills.
  • Decision-making on administrative, procedural and employee issues.
  • Analyze information to define and solve problems.
  • Good judgment, self-control, and professional boundaries.
  • Proficient in the operation of Microsoft Office software, CaseWorthy and other business-related software applications.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow safety and other specific instructions and procedures.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies, stages of recovery and a culturally diverse community.
  • Team and customer service orientated, work effectively in the coordination of resident support activities.
  • Implement program guidelines and offer suggestions for improvement.
  • Apply knowledge of other UGMTC departments and services to explain them to residents and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Implements established CRC resident programming, work assignments, and case management processes in alignment with UGMTC’s mission, values, and policies.
  • Assists Program Director in the development and implementation of program policy, procedures, and guidelines consistent with the ethical standards of the profession.
  • Make independent administrative and procedural decisions and judgments within scope of role.
  • Works evening and weekend hours as needed to connect with residents who have employment schedules during normal business hours.
  • Monitors resident work assignments and CRC programming, gathers data and prepares reports to assist in the evaluation of program effectiveness and achievement of program objectives.
  • Provides input to Program Director on CRC budget.
  • Exercises independent professional and ethical judgment in monitoring resident goals and treatment plans through non-therapeutic counseling, mentoring, support spiritual development and encourage residents in their sobriety and with family reunification.
  • Refers residents to Support Services when appropriate.
  • Obtains certification and serves as Genesis Change group facilitator.
  • Teaches recovery classes, facilitates groups and meetings with family members.
  • Plans, leads, and supervises social and recreational outings for residents; assists Program Chaplain with supervising spiritual retreats for residents.
  • Supervises overnight recreational trips and retreats.
  • Uses established case management methodology and practices to evaluate resident progress and provide direct case management through regular one-on-one meetings; ensure resident confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA Privacy Regulations.
  • Updates resident progress in Caseworthy software by recording accurate and timely case notes.
  • Follows all established Caseworthy policies and procedures; maintains other program records and reports.
  • Confers with Program Director and Program Chaplain on case issues, resident progress, and program recommendations.
  • Partners with Program Director, Program Chaplain, and Support Services to coordinate care for residents.
  • Establishes a welcoming and safe environment for men in recovery.
  • De-escalates and resolves issues and conflicts that occur with staff, residents, families ranging from the expression of verbal anger up to and including violence, and emergency situations.
  • Responds to crisis situations, including resident relapse, conducting room searches and interacting with police or healthcare professionals to address situation.
  • Monitors the assignment of resident housing.
  • Monitors residents for drug and alcohol use and adherence to program policy.
  • Addresses discipline issues, communicating and enforcing disciplinary measures.
  • Manages the timely collection and deposit of program fees from CRC residents, ensuring proper recordkeeping, accuracy, and compliance with all accounting requirements.
  • Enforces safety and occupational health policies and procedures; corrects unsafe conditions within CRC and reports injuries immediately.
  • Assists in supervising Program Assistant and Chemical Dependency Techs.
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with other departments within UGMTC and surrounding community organizations.
  • Provide backup management support to the Program Director, as needed.
  • Ability to teach established UGMTC budgeting and financial wellness curriculum, as well as track residents' savings goals and encourage appropriate financial planning which will all Attends seminars and training for case managers, including counseling and therapeutic techniques.
