About The Position

The Business & Technology Portfolio Enablement team works to align IT Strategy with Business Strategy. Critical functions for the team include supporting the idea/project intake processes and facilitating the forecasts of capital, human resources, and infrastructure needed to support the evolving project portfolio. The team works with project portfolio tools and capacity reporting to provide insights and orchestrate the broader portfolio to maximize implementation delivery. As the Program Manager of Business & Technology Portfolio Enablement, you will liaison across the entire bank organization. This responsibility is critical to ensure strategic and delivery alignments along with improvement of reporting, process efficiencies, and overall execution methodologies. You will be responsible for the execution and administration of Business and Technology Planning, IT capacity alignment and IT PMO Practice Management across the lines of business through the initial phases of the project lifecycle. You will work directly with stakeholders and project leadership to review and evaluate project scope and resource needs. This includes recognizing scope alignments to improve projects, resources and budgetary efficiencies. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which will include multiple initiatives as assigned by IT leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience in the banking or financial industry, IT portfolio or program management.
  • Demonstrated competency in creating effective reporting, executive communications, and user adoption / process documentation.
  • Proven competency in developing and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets, and critical paths.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex messages to a wide audience.

Nice To Haves

  • Banking or financial services industry experience.
  • Experience with ServiceNow SPM module and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership negotiation and communications across all levels (C-Suite through Manager levels).
  • Review and approval coordination of Strategic, Tactical, and Operational Projects
  • Liaise with LOB, IT, Product, and Operations teams to ensure alignment and prioritization for portfolio focus.
  • Ensure alignment with Finance, Contracts, Regulatory, Legal and Compliance as needed per effort scope
  • Provide direction and collaborate to improve the current project delivery methodologies to support repeatable PMO activities and deliverables that align to the regulatory and UMB defined SDLC controls that ensure quality, security, and delivery effectiveness.
  • Assist in monitoring the quality of project documentation through the initial project lifecycle stages.
  • Collaborate to support proactive capacity reporting and analysis to identify and work to resolve upcoming capacity issues that would cause disruptions to milestones or implementation delivery of the portfolio.
  • Drive portfolio delivery excellence by creating a cohesive portfolio plan that proactively drives to meet the time, scope, and quality based on targeted project initiation.
  • Identify and review capacity concerns within the initial project lifecycle stages that could impede the initiation of projects.
  • Work closely with leadership teams, portfolio management teams and technical managers to improve the collection and maintenance of resource forecast information within the portfolio.
  • Work with portfolio delivery leaders to recalibrate the portfolio as necessary when demands of the business dictate a change in delivery or scope.
  • Assist in the execution of IT portfolio metric reporting and visualization to support communication of IT delivery commitments.
  • These metrics/reporting will be used to measure the health and maturity growth of the planning processes and overall PMO.
