About The Position

Responsible for leading and organizing activities for the summer programs. Work includes maintaining a safe play environment, providing arts and crafts, and daily activities, and supervising program participants. The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, some weekend and the season runs late May through August 25th. Hours will vary based on candidate availability, department needs, and weather.

Requirements

  • At least 16 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe play environment for program participants including checking activity areas for hazardous conditions, i.e. litter, broken glass, and equipment condition.
  • Maintain order, supervise, and guide scheduled and unscheduled activities for program participants.
  • Review and prep necessary items to implement daily lesson plans.
  • Prepare all required reports on accidents and incidents including participant injury or discipline.
  • Report unlawful behavior, vandalism, and hazardous conditions promptly.
  • Prepared all required forms including incident reports, action reports, time sheets, attendance logs, work requests, and evaluation forms.
  • Respond to citizen concerns.
  • Report unlawful behavior, vandalism, and hazardous conditions to the proper site authorities and to the Recreation Superintendent.
  • Other duties as related and assigned.
