About The Position
After-School All-Stars (ASAS) is a leading national after-school program provider dedicated to helping children succeed both academically and socially. We are currently seeking energetic and creative individuals to join our team as Program Leaders for the 2024-2025 school year. This part-time position is based at LEEP, located at 5323 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11220. The typical work hours are Monday to Thursday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Friday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with compensation ranging from $17 to $19 per hour based on experience. As a Program Leader, you will play a crucial role in managing and monitoring a group of 20 to 30 participants, ensuring a safe and engaging environment. You will work closely with Activity Specialists to implement a pre-designed curriculum while also supporting behavior management. The position emphasizes three key areas: creating positive environments, building positive relationships, and designing and delivering positive experiences for the participants. In creating a positive environment, you will recognize and embrace each participant's individuality, encouraging them to expand their horizons. You will establish a culture that celebrates participation and effort, ensuring that safety policies are adhered to at all times. Building positive relationships involves setting clear expectations for behavior, resolving conflicts effectively, and maintaining professional relationships with all stakeholders, including school staff, parents, and participants. Lastly, you will design and deliver positive experiences by allowing participants to provide input on lessons and engage in leadership opportunities, collaborating with fellow staff to maintain high-quality programs.
