About The Position

The Intern role is an integral part of the Knowledge & Learning team, ensuring Knowledge & Learning programs are supported and run smoothly. The position has an hourly wage of $18.00, up to 30 hours per week. The intern will gain valuable experience in the field of education and contribute to the success of KIPP DC's mission. This is a summer intern role that runs for 9 weeks (June 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026), based on KIPP DC campuses with an anticipated start date of June 1st, 2026. The Knowledge and Learning team, housed under the larger Academics team, leads the preparation and execution of high-quality ongoing professional development for resident teachers, new teachers, special educators, and new school leaders. Knowledge and Learning Team programming provides opportunities for support through year-long cohort experiences and coaching in the early stages of teacher and leader careers. Participants in K&L programs receive development through in-person or online classes, direct coaching in schools, and collaboration with peers in cohort settings. The Knowledge & Learning Team Intern plays a critical role in supporting our team in a variety of ways. Responsibilities include program compliance and data tracking, use of Excel and Google Drive documents/spreadsheets, program organization, and targeted analysis of certification data to improve program outcomes. The Knowledge & Learning Team Intern will also support the preparation and execution of high-quality ongoing professional development for teachers and leaders across KIPP DC. As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families, we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. Schools operate in person and our students and families rely on us for in-person support, and this position will regularly provide on-site support to school teams, frequently partner with other headquarters teams, or regularly work in multiple locations.
