Position Overview: As our Program Financial Modeler, you will be responsible for developing detailed product and portfolio financial models, analyzing financial/cost data, facilitating transactions, and communicating results with senior leaders and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required. A degree in economics or finance is highly desired.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must have experience in conducting due diligence efforts for multiple high-value transactions.
  • Must have excellent MS Excel skills or experience with similar spreadsheet software.
  • Must have a keen eye for detail and an ability to sift through large data sets to extract meaningful information.
  • Must have excellent time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in investment banking, financial underwriting, or economic consulting is preferred.
  • Experience with large scale, complex programs is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in energy sector transactions or diligence efforts is preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts, budgeting principles and a solid understanding of financial analysis terminology and best practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a series of financial & economic models for a variety of prospective energy generation products and energy utility projects.
  • Support strategic engagements with prospective partners and lenders on financial models, uncertainties, and risk.
  • Support management team in diligence and selection of prospective partners.
  • Interface with upper management to develop criteria and regularly present findings to the team.
  • Create and present simplified results from complex financial models.
  • Collaborate with program commercialization leaders and analysts to support business strategy and decision-making efforts.
  • Work with program finance team to support proposal efforts.
