The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Program Finance Partner (Budget Planning & Analysis) for the Defense Systems Group (DSG). The role is responsible for direct delivery analysis, government customer interaction, tracking of funding, annual and multi-year budgeting at the Group level, baseline management, development of financial forecasts/Estimates at Completion (EACs) and planning scenarios, development and implementation of financial and operational metrics, and dashboards. The position serves as a trusted financial advisor to the Senior Program Finance Manager and supports the Defense Strategic Space (DSS) Principal Directors providing the financial data, trends analysis, and predictive analytics that the corporation needs to deliver its value proposition to customers and to meet its goals. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time on-site at our Crystal City DC or Chantilly VA location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
  • Six or more years’ experience in program control, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and superior Excel skills
  • Knowledge of governmental and government contractor budgeting systems and practices
  • Prior experience as a Financial Analyst, Program Control Analyst, Project Control Analyst, or Budget Analyst
  • Experience managing an organization portfolio of projects and ability to adapt to changes as needed
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience within a research or Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) environment
  • Two or more years of financial analysis, program control, budgeting, baseline management, and forecasting / EACs experience in a US government Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) contracting environment
  • Knowledge of cost accounting standards (CAS)
  • Demonstrated experience as a resourceful and creative solution finder who can develop options with a broad perspective on the potential impact to the Corporation

Responsibilities

  • Implementing corporate standard processes, tools, and cadence within cognizant organization, optimizing compliance and efficiency.
  • Developing and maintaining Group baselines and forecasts (EACs) and associated configuration management for the organization.
  • Developing and providing independent analysis of financial plans and forecasts for direct and indirect funded activities at the Group level; tracking and performing analyses for various budgets; maintaining and reporting organizational statistics and metrics.
  • Comparing and analyzing Professional Technical Staff (PTS) and financial results with plans and forecasts, independently identifying trends; assessing and communicating reliable metrics that management can use to make informed business decisions; using data driven insights to recommend corrective actions to achieve PTS and financial plans.
  • Informing the Senior Program Finance Managers, and other stakeholders on financial trends, reporting unit performance and recommends corrective actions to achieve financial plans
  • Supporting numerous corporate and organizational data calls and initiatives, communicating, coordinating, compiling, analyzing, reporting, and satisfying requirements of each initiative through coordination with all stakeholders
