The Cornell NanoScale Facility (CNF) is seeking a Program Extension Aide III to support the efficient functioning of the facility. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational flow of CNF, which serves a diverse user base including undergraduates, graduate students, postdocs, and professionals engaged in various projects ranging from academic research to product development. The Program Extension Aide will work under minimal supervision, providing essential support to the Director of Operations, Lab Manager, and facility staff. This position involves coordinating meetings, events, and programs, as well as managing facility publications and social media presence. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that CNF operates smoothly and effectively, contributing to the overall mission of advancing research and innovation at Cornell University. In this role, the Program Extension Aide will be responsible for organizing all CNF events and meetings, including the annual CNF meeting and the New York State Nanotechnology symposium. They will ensure that appropriate conference room reservations are secured and manage all aspects of the Technology & Characterization at the Nanoscale (TCN) course. Additionally, the aide will oversee the Undergraduate Research Program, handling everything from advertising and recruitment to project screening and student logistics. Collaboration with the education and outreach leader is essential for coordinating workforce development and outreach events. The aide will also maintain and update the CNF website and social media, prepare external communications, and manage content for CNF publications, including the Annual Research Accomplishments document. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a customer service demeanor, and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of constituents. They will be expected to foster a culture of belonging and a psychologically healthy work environment, demonstrating respect, compassion, and empathy in all interactions.
