Staff Skills for Success; Leadership Skills for Success About the College The Department of Animal Science offers undergraduate and graduate programs on the biology and management of food, laboratories, and companion animal species. Our research programs advance our understanding of animal biology and address local and global issues facing animal industries today. Our goals are to discover and develop new techniques and information to benefit animals, agriculture, and human health. The Department’s 19 faculty members, many internationally recognized, have diverse interests in animal management, breeding, genetics, physiology, nutrition, growth biology, and microbiology. This position supports extension programs within the department, including the Pro-Livestock and 4H programs. The Pro-Livestock program supports livestock farmers across New York State providing educational resources, workshops, and training to enhance the management and profitability of livestock operations. The 4-H program aims to engage youth in hands-on learning experiences that promote positive youth development. This position will also support summer intern poster sessions and related workshops. The Program/Extension Aide will coordinate logistics such as refreshment, transportation, meeting space, lodging, marketing, communications, and financial record keeping. Prepare and maintain schedules for functions, manage registration databases for workshops, including assisting with online registration and updating registrant information. This position supports extension programs that contribute to educational programs to enhance the understanding and teaching of agriculture in New York State, document preparation and communication, and summarizing project details. This is a full-time (39 hours/week) position and will be located in Ithaca, New York.
