About The Position

GDIT is seeking an experienced Program Execution Director to lead and oversee a team dedicated to supporting enterprise-level IT programs, ensuring successful delivery of strategic initiatives across multiple portfolios. This role is responsible for managing a team of program planners and schedulers, driving execution excellence, and aligning program outcomes with organizational objectives. The selected Program Execution Director will have experience working in a fast-paced, highly complex environment where deliverables and customer requirements can shift rapidly; the ability to remain agile and pivot according to mission demands is critical. Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Experience: 10+ years of program management experience within IT environments
  • Leadership experience: 5+ years in leadership roles managing program planning and scheduling teams
  • Technical skills: Advanced Excel skills and experience in Oracle Financials
  • Technical skills: Strong understanding of program governance, scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and portfolio management frameworks
  • Role requirements: Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Role requirements: Proven ability to manage complex, multi-million-dollar programs
  • Security clearance level: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • US citizenship required
  • Location: Hybrid to the Falls Church Headquarters with the expectation to work in the office a minimum of three (3) or more days per week

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and practices for performance measurement and forecasting. Experience integrating EVM into program reporting and decision-making processes.
  • Preferred Certifications: PMP, PgMP, or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of ~15 to 18 program planners and schedulers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and maintain program governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and best practices.
  • Drive program execution across multiple complex initiatives, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, project managers, and cross-functional teams to align program objectives with business priorities.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to ensure successful program outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level reporting on program health, performance metrics, and resource utilization
