The Program Engineer (CTOH / Light Vehicle) is responsible for system layout and oversight of packaging activities. This role serves as the technical interface to the customer and acts as the single point of contact for non-engineering teams such as commercial, purchasing, and program management. The engineer will identify program critical risks and define actions to mitigate them, incorporating Design to Cost Targets. They will compile, cascade, and adhere to customer and Tenneco requirements, transferring customer milestones and deliverables into the internal development and launch process and DVP&R. The position ensures adherence to customer milestones and general program alignment with Sales and Program Management. The engineer will lead technical reviews and presentations, maintain a deep understanding of customer processes, requirements, and program timing, and track Program Engineering requirements to the DVP&R. They are responsible for delivering program design to engineering and customer deliverables and targets, ensuring that assigned engineers meet their targets. The role also involves adhering to and generating standardization for products and processes, leading problem-solving techniques and initiatives, and leading continuous improvement projects.

  • Ensure assigned engineers are meeting their assigned targets
  • Adhere to and generate Standardization for products/processes
  • Lead Problem Solving Techniques and initiatives
  • Lead Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Lead engineering activities for assigned design & ensure adherence to GRD standards
  • Interface with Tier II suppliers for non-tech Subject Matter Experts products
  • Responsible for tolerance stack-up (interface with design)
  • Understand GD&T for exhaust systems
  • Identify/Confirm/participate DFMEA content
  • Guide MET, Purchasing and Manufacturing teams with design, manufacturing and selection of processes
  • Assess the impact of customer/Tenneco requirements on system architecture and performance
  • Proficient reporting on DVP&R
  • Understand analysis results for hardware trade-off decisions
  • Assess supplier reports/findings to ensure program requirements are met
  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Master's or Ph.D. may substitute for industry experience
