About The Position

The Sierra Pre Trial Program offers outpatient competency restoration assessments, individual and group clinical services for adult, justice-involved males with a primary mental health diagnosis in a community-based, congregate living setting. Residents typically stay for 3 to 6 months, receiving psychoeducational and skill-building services to aid their re-entry into the community post-incarceration. The program aims to reduce recidivism by fostering positive behavioral change and prosocial community connections, and also provides referrals for employment, housing, and educational services. The Program Director will be responsible for direct clinical and task supervision of the Clinical Manager, Clinician, and direct care staff. Key areas of focus include program operations and development, as well as collaborating with funders, referring agents, medical, and clinical providers to establish comprehensive wrap-around services designed to reduce recidivism among the justice-involved population. The role includes on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong leadership, clear and effective communication, high motivation, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a trauma-informed environment. Essential experience includes working with individuals living with mental illness, with a strong preference for experience in residential or congregate care settings.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Human Services discipline (i.e. counseling, psychology, social work)
  • 3+ years related leadership experience
  • Licensed or licensed eligible (LMSW, LCSW, LPCA, LPC, LMFTA, LMFT)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Experience working in a position that supports individuals living with mental illness

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical and task supervision for the Clinical Manager, Clinician, and direct care staff
  • Focus on program operations and development
  • Work collaboratively with funders, referring agents, medical and clinical providers to establish wrap around services to reduce recidivism among the justice involved population
  • Have on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis
  • Be part of a weekend on-call rotation
  • Have flexibility to work alternate hours if required to meet the needs of the program
