About The Position

The Program Director in the Youth Development & Social Responsibility Operations has direct responsibility of Leading the YMCA Cause, Creating an Impact, Developing Resources, and Protecting the Organization with an operational responsibility of supervising multiple CC/AS and camp program. Specifically, the Program Director is responsible for implementing the Y mission, strategic goals, key initiatives and core values. This involves all aspects of developing and delivering high quality Youth Development & Social Responsibility programs, building and retaining an outstanding staff, and establishing the YMCA as a vital force for local community development.

Requirements

  • This position requires a commitment to the YMCA mission and its core values of: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility as well as a commitment to building developmental assets in adults and youth. Additionally, the YMCA values diversity, youth, and a broad vision of health and wellness which is contingent upon relationship building.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited university is preferred.
  • If supervising child care programs, must have units or get units within a year, to quality as a child care site director (12 units child development, 3 units administration and supervision).
  • If supervising after school programs, must have 48 college units or pass the local school district paraprofessional assessment.
  • 2 years related experience with prior success managing Youth Development & Social Responsibility programs
  • Or the combination of education, training and experience commensurate with others in this position
  • Demonstrated excellence in child care, after school and camp operations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, strategize, visualize, identify problems, and reach conclusions to create and implement action within the program
  • Recruit, Retain and coach staff; Maintain a positive attitude and conduct with total staff team as a positive adult role model including supporting developmental assets within the community.
  • Develop programs to positively meet the needs of the members/community it serves.
  • Collaborate across regions to support the organization in the pursuit of high program quality
  • Advance key initiatives and projects to advance the strategic plan throughout child care, after school and camp
  • Demonstrate program growth, participant retention, program quality, community impact and, member and staff satisfaction
  • Develop and monitor the budget to achieve financial goals
  • Actively participant in annual campaign and lead site directors to successful participation in branch campaigns to increase financial aid resources
  • Actively support volunteer involvement in all child care, after school and camp programs
  • Adhere to all association policies, best practices and requirements in risk and safety, fiscal stewardship, internal organizational and external regulatory compliance to protect the health and reputation of the YMCA of Silicon Valley.
