About The Position

You will be responsible for the overall programmatic and operational responsibility for the administration and supervision of the Sandpiper staff and program. Your Main Priorities While additional responsibilities are likely to arise on the job, you will primarily: Develop a strategic plan that addresses programmatic priorities, available resources, and timeline for implementation. Utilize and regularly update professionally accepted assessment tools and evaluates program performance and effectiveness. Provide training to staff on program evaluation methodology – how to interpret, organize, and present data to support sound making decision making. Develop program policies and procedures relating to staff (including new hires), family engagement, financial management, health and safety, risk management, etc. to promote vision, mission, and education goals. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and families to integrate their feedback into the program’s vision, mission, and philosophy. Review expenses regularly to identify ways to reduce costs and improve efficiency resulting in net savings on approved budgets. Maintain working relationships with the licensing representatives and agency partners – RI Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF), RI Department of Health (RIDOH), RI Department of Human Services (RIDHS), and the RI Department of Education (RIDE). Maintain childcare space to ensure a safe environment that meets early childhood education standards and all regulatory agency requirements. Implement all standards necessary to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment; requires staff to enforce all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development or related field required.
  • Minimum or 5 years’ experience in a childcare setting with at least 1 of those years in a supervisory position required; knowledge of Child Development and RI Early Learning Evidence Base Curriculum and RI Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS) required.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and time-management skills.
  • Basic computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to communicate and effectively interact with a diverse population.
  • Collaboration and teamwork.
  • Leadership.
  • The ideal candidate will be required to meet all background checks and medical clearances required for the position.
