About The Position

The Program Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and clinical programming of an adolescent residential treatment center. This role provides leadership to a multidisciplinary team, ensures high-quality patient care, and supports a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for adolescents throughout their treatment journey.

Requirements

  • Previous leadership experience within a residential treatment center or behavioral health setting.
  • Experience working with adolescents in a mental health and/or substance use treatment environment.
  • Strong understanding of residential operations, clinical programming, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage conflict, and support a positive work culture.
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field preferred (Bachelor’s may be considered with extensive experience).
  • Experience in program management, staff supervision, and operational oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the residential program, ensuring a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for adolescent patients.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and support to clinical and residential staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable team culture.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care aligned with program standards and treatment goals.
  • Monitor patient progress and support clinical decision-making in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards, including documentation and program audits.
  • Partner with admissions, utilization review, and clinical teams to support census management and continuity of care.
  • Address patient, family, and staff concerns with professionalism and clinical oversight.
  • Support staff development, training, and performance management to ensure consistent quality of care.
  • Collaborate on program development initiatives and continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Ensure clear communication across departments, including executive leadership, clinical teams, and external partners.
