The Program Director for the Victims of Violence Intervention Program (VVIP) is responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of programs aimed at supporting victims of violence. This role involves coordinating advocacy efforts, managing shelter operations, and raising community awareness about domestic and sexual violence issues. The Program Director will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure effective service delivery and program development.

  • Supervise direct service staff, shelter coordinator, interns, and volunteers; develop and maintain staff and crisis line schedules; train new direct service staff; provide ongoing professional development of staff in areas of domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Participate and coordinate speaking engagements, community meetings, and public education and awareness activities.
  • Oversee Sexual Assault Response Team coordination and Support Group coordination.
  • Identify and network with community partners and other service agencies to create a collaborative, community-based approach to serving survivors and build community awareness of available resources and services.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities for growth of programs and services; develop new program areas to better serve clients; evaluate ongoing program services and recommend changes when needed.
  • Develop and implement policies and practices with adherence to agency protocol and ensure the ongoing operation of all current programming.
  • Oversee the accurate documentation and data reporting of services provided; maintain documentation of services as required by grantors; oversee client management, record keeping, and comply with reporting requirements from grantors.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director to ensure quality of services, assist with and develop special projects, and assist with identifying funding needs.
  • Assist with shelter, on-site crisis work, and crisis line coverage as needed.
  • Promote a positive VVIP public image and adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the VVIP Board of Directors.
  • Experience in program management, advocacy, and raising awareness.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and community partners.
  • Knowledge of domestic and sexual violence issues and prevention strategies.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or related field is a plus.
  • Experience in a supervisory role and non-profit work.
  • Sensitivity and awareness of various local cultures of clients.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and skills in community resource coordination.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, able to perform duties with speed and accuracy, handle multiple tasks at once, work well under pressure, sound judgment and decision-making skills, courteous and helpful, strong team player, maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, databases.
  • Valid driver's license.
