About the position

Lake Tahoe Preparatory School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Director with residential treatment experience. This role is responsible for the administration, management, and overall success of the school's residential life and outdoor/adventure programming, ensuring the well-being of students during their attendance. The Program Director will report directly to the Head of School and Assistant Head of School.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives for the LTP Residential Life program.
  • Supervise program staff, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure effective program delivery and team cohesion.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, funders, and community organizations, to enhance program visibility and impact.
  • Monitor program activities, outcomes, and impact, using data-driven insights to continually improve program effectiveness.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on program progress, achievements, and challenges to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and events related to LTP.
  • Maintain student discipline and follow-through with correspondence record-keeping relating to discipline.
  • Coordinate new student and faculty orientation.
  • Communicate directly with students, parents, and staff members, while maintaining records of all communications.
  • Counsel students when necessary, working closely with the school's clinical team.
  • Prepare and maintain the school's weekly activities and athletics.
  • Handle student health and wellness, including dress code enforcement and sick policy enforcement.
  • Supervise and evaluate the staff carrying out student activities and athletics.
  • Ensure regular dorm inspections and damage reports are given to maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head and Assistant Head of School.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in program management, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to translate vision into action.
  • Excellent financial management skills, including budget development, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in staff supervision, team development, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to different audiences.
  • Commitment to quality education and mental health and passion for making a difference in adolescents' lives.
