About The Position

Reporting to the Associate Director, the Program Director provides functional leadership and strategic oversight for the Center’s most complex program portfolios and initiatives. Translates center strategy into actionable program models, leads the development of marketing and recruitment pipelines, and manages high-level partnerships with community and industry stakeholders. Oversees program financial health and vendor contracts, provides functional guidance to program staff and student teams, and advances the scalability of concurrent center initiatives. Note: This is a one-year Contract position with a potential for extension.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Analytical / problem-solving skills.
  • Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Strong policy analysis techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, industry professionals, community partners, and students.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing project lifecycles, including planning, resource allocation, and timeline management for multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience performing data analysis to evaluate program effectiveness and drafting formal reports
  • Experience overseeing day-to-day program operations and facility logistics, including providing functional work direction to staff or volunteers to ensure the successful execution of high-volume events.
  • Experience monitoring project-based budgets, including performing reconciliations and analyzing expenditures to ensure alignment with strategic program goals.
  • Demonstrated success in building and sustaining professional relationships with a diverse range of external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of best practices in youth development and engagement strategies for secondary education students (ages 13-18).
  • Previous experience working within a higher education or non-profit environment.
  • Written and conversational mastery of the Spanish language.
  • Experience developing or executing digital marketing and outreach plans to drive enrollment.
