The Program Director for Phlebotomy at WSU Tech is responsible for the overall development, management, and operation of the Phlebotomy program. This role includes curriculum oversight, faculty coordination, student recruitment, and ensuring program accreditation standards are met. The Program Director will serve as a key leadership figure, advocating for student success and program excellence. This position emphasizes leadership, innovation, and a commitment to student-centered learning experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Current certification as a Phlebotomist, EKG technician, PCT, or minimum of 3 years’ experience Nursing, or related Healthcare Profession.
  • Experience in Program Management.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to build relationships with faculty, students, and industry partners.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment practices.
  • Proficient in the use of educational technology and learning management systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in higher education preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, support, and evaluate faculty and staff, including performance management and coaching
  • Develop, update, and maintain curriculum, syllabi, and instructional materials aligned with industry standards
  • Maintains an effective learning environment across the program
  • Teaches 3–9 credit hours each semester (fall and spring).
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate academic records (grades, attendance, LMS communication)
  • Provide timely feedback to students and ensure course outcomes and competencies are achieved
  • Manage program operations including scheduling, supplies, and classroom/lab environments
  • Coordinate accreditation activities, reporting, and compliance with institutional and external standards
  • Participate in recruitment, outreach, and student engagement activities (open houses, tours, information sessions)
  • Manages budget with Dean, including student consumables
