Organization: In-Patient Nrs Practnrs 40 Job Summary: In collaboration with executive entity leaders, identify, improve, and support pediatric solid organ transplant program. Create strategic planning and business development, oversee operational performance and growth objectives. Advances the pediatric transplant program in the community, executes projects to advance overall performance through operational, personnel and fiscal strategies. . Position Hours: Monday through Friday Days Full-Time Department Summary: Monroe Carell is a leading provider of pediatric organ transplantation in the United States, giving our smallest patients hope for a healthier tomorrow. We perform heart, liver and kidney transplants, and dual organ transplants such as liver/heart and liver/kidney. Our specialists offer innovative treatment options that allow us to serve more patients, including high-risk patients who may not be candidates for transplant at other medical centers.

  • Collaborates with the VUMC Transplant Center and the Pediatric Transplant Medical Director to establish and grow both internal and external referral networks for pediatric solid organ transplants.
  • Develops strategic plans, outcome measures, and ongoing strategies to ensure growth for pediatric solid organ transplant programs as a service line for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
  • Partners with Marketing, Communications, and others to develop outreach materials, external communication efforts, education/training programs, and participation in community relations activities.
  • Collaborates with agencies providing organs and timely transfer of transplantation (UNOS/OPTN) and community support agencies (ALF, AHA, TKF, TDS, etc.)
  • Ensures that the mission, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Monroe Carell Transplant program are communicated, understood, and accomplished by staff/faculty. Facilitates a patient and family centered approach across the healthcare continuum. Develops policies and procedures related to pediatric transplant in collaboration with the VUMC Transplant Center and Monroe Carell hospital/department leadership.
  • May evaluate or provide input into the performance appraisals of Transplant Center staff.
  • Develops and implement systems and processes are in place to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of patient scheduling, patient flow and maintenance of patient data.
  • Develops and manages transplant operating and capital budgets. In partnership with the VUMC Transplant Center and Monroe Carell Finance, produces and distributes financial reviews and develops action plans to ensure alignment with VUMC and Monroe Carell budget and growth targets reporting of service line profitability.
  • Participates and/or leads pediatric Transplant committees, workgroups, and task forces. Serves on hospital and community committees as designated.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, analyzes, evaluates, and reports continuous quality improvement initiatives for the transplant program in partnership with the VUMC Transplant Center and the Monroe Carell department of Performance Management and Improvement. Manages all data related to pediatric transplant and enters data into appropriate databases in partnership with the VUMC Transplant Center. Collaborates with clinicians to participate in evidence-based practice and research activities.
  • Ensures compliance with all professional, governmental, and transplant regulatory agency standards in partnership with the VUMC Transplant Center and VUMC department of Standards and Accreditation. Oversees and coordinates the timely and accurate preparation and submission of pediatric transplant data as required by regulatory agencies and managed care companies.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Required
  • Masters Degree Required
  • Transplant Experience Strongly Preferred
