About The Position

The Program Director of Master Teacher-Leader Acceleration at Democracy Prep Public Schools is responsible for envisioning and launching a multi-year program aimed at accelerating the development of promising teacher-leaders at the Democracy Prep Agassi Campus (DPAC). This role involves creating a professional development curriculum for pedagogy and leadership, supporting instructional and operational tasks, and ultimately building a cohort of teacher-leaders who drive academic outcomes and contribute to faculty development.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience improving teacher efficacy and outcomes.
  • 4+ years teaching experience with a history of exemplary instruction.
  • Experience developing engaging professional development for adults.
  • Track record of executing initiatives at the school or systems level.
  • Strong history of partnering with school leadership to achieve results.

  • Experience in sports coaching.
  • Experience in teacher coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a scope and sequence and materials for teacher and leader acceleration programming.
  • Observe and provide feedback to teachers to understand regional strengths and areas of growth.
  • Meet with leadership and staff to identify potential candidates for the program.
  • Internalize Democracy Prep's frameworks for evaluating and coaching teachers and leaders.
  • Provide instructional coaching to a pilot cohort of teachers.
  • Present programmatic goals and facilitate a structured interviewing process for candidate selection.
  • Plan and facilitate comprehensive induction for incoming program participants.
  • Provide ongoing coaching for teachers to ensure growth and model teaching practices.
  • Deliver regular professional development for the cohort of teachers.
  • Monitor student results and provide feedback to teachers to meet academic goals.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of teachers and create additional development opportunities as needed.
  • Continue coaching and professional development for teacher-leaders in the second year of the program.
