The Program Director will directly oversee services delivered within the Living in Place Program and ensure compliance with all JASA and DoHMH regulations and contract deliverables.
Provides direct leadership to the Living in Place program including supervision of staff and identifying opportunities for programmatic growth and improvement.
Plans, organizes and directs coordination and implementation of service delivery to Living in Place clients.
Intervenes during client emergencies.
Maintains oversight and monitors cases with elevated risks.
Maintains oversight of contract deliverables and compliance with internal and funder regulations.
Provides direct services to clients such as care coordination and short term counseling. Services may be delivered in client homes, JASA offices, and/or alternate community sites.
Communicates policies and objectives to subordinates and gives general direction and procedures to adhere to policies and achieve objectives.
Assesses all problem areas, makes recommendations for corrective action and writes reports on findings and progress.
Provides tactical guidance and direction on all activities of the program toward maximizing the quality of concept, policy and services.
Recruitment for the program including interviewing and recommending persons eligible and appropriate for hire.
Attends meetings (internal and external) on matters relating to JASA’s Living in Place program.
Makes recommendations to the Senior Director of Mental Health relative to services and activities provided including the implementation of measurable outcomes.
Ensures that all reports, statistical records, and records required by governmental agencies are maintained and that JASA is in full compliance with all contract requirements.
Additional responsibilities as require
Graduate degree in social work or related human service field
NYS license in social work or mental health counseling is required
Three years experience in mental health or related aging services preferred
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to provide supervision and leadership to social work staff.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand English. Bilingual preferable.
Good writing/record keeping skills.
Computer literate with ability to learn program-specific software. Should be conversant with Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications plus significant experience performing Internet-based research
Ability to travel throughout NYC as needed.
Understanding and appreciation of the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, and individual values as they relate to serving clients and families.
Three years experience in mental health or related aging services preferred
