The Program Director for KFI & KLAC at iHeartMedia is responsible for leading all aspects of the station's on-air experience, including talent management, content creation, and digital presence. This role involves overseeing programming strategies to enhance market share, listener engagement, and revenue generation while ensuring compliance with FCC regulations. The Program Director will collaborate with senior leadership to align programming with business goals and community engagement initiatives.

  • Lead all aspects of station on-air experience in a leadership and operations role.
  • Oversee the creation and selection of all on-air and digital content, ensuring alignment with the station's brand and audience preferences.
  • Partner with Market President and Senior Vice President of Programming and Sales to support local and corporate business goals.
  • Field sports team calls, schedule play-by-play, and check social media to ensure music consistency with the station's brand.
  • Review and determine all commercial and paid programming content, ensuring compliance with FCC rules and regulations.
  • Manage the programming schedule to maximize listener engagement.
  • Hire, train, and manage on-air personalities and other staff, fostering a creative environment.
  • Design and implement market research to understand audience demographics and preferences.
  • Coordinate promotional events and on-location broadcasts to engage with the community.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the station, including troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Minimum of 10 years prior high-level experience in radio.
  • Proven track record for ratings success and revenue generation.
  • Ease with a wide range of spoken word radio formats including talk and sports.
  • Familiarity with streaming, digital, and podcast platforms.
  • Strong managerial skills, including diplomacy, critical thinking, and leadership.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Experience with research and analytics.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with play-by-play sports and the workings of local and syndicated sports.
