The Program Director II for Software and Information Technology at Monroe Community College is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of non-credit and contract credit programming related to information and computer technology. This role involves collaboration with local businesses and the ICT department to create training programs that meet industry needs, particularly in the context of Industry 4.0 technology. The Program Director is expected to deliver superior customer service and manage corporate relationships to foster partnerships and repeat business. This is a temporary, full-time position that may be renewed based on budget availability and performance reviews.

  • Manage corporate information technology accounts and relationships to foster strong partnerships and repeat business for the College.
  • Identify and develop new non-credit and/or academic information technology and Industry 4.0 related program opportunities, manage budgets, and advise the College regarding market demand.
  • Conduct needs assessments for Economic & Workforce Development Center information technology and advanced manufacturing clients to determine appropriate training and academic program solutions.
  • Develop instructional program solutions or engage appropriate instructional resources to design and deliver programs meeting industry and customer information technology needs.
  • Create innovative open enrollment content/programming for prospective students planning to re-skill/upskill, including programs for secondary students.
  • Develop and manage client proposals for IT-related non-credit and academic contract training opportunities.
  • Maintain relationships with instructional resources and guide instructor implementation of information technology program deliverables.
  • Serve as liaison with the ICT department for ongoing analysis and recommendations for programming in high-demand IT areas.
  • Utilize CRM methodology with Salesforce.com to maintain client notes and log opportunities.
  • Establish internship, externship, and job training opportunities with employer partners.
  • Participate in marketing and outreach activities within the scope of the position.
  • Provide input to the Director, Finger Lakes Workforce Development Center, based on employer needs and feedback.
  • Lead and support career exploration activities in the FWD Center and department.
  • Manage career exploration boot camps and workshops in collaboration with community organizations.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Secondary Partnerships to expand career exploration opportunities for partner schools.
  • Participate in program evaluation design and implementation.
  • Earned bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, computer science or a related field from a regionally-accredited higher education institution.
  • Experience in information technology program management with experience creating, instructing, and/or implementing entry-level and higher IT-related instructional programming.
  • Knowledge of current trends in automation software and IT for Industry 4.0 applications, cloud computing, software development, computer programming, networking, and/or database administration.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience with budget planning and administration.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills to analyze issues and create action plans.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and maintain flexible working hours.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive and collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently.
  • Resourcefulness in solving problems.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • An understanding of and commitment to the mission and philosophy of the community college.
  • Earned master's degree or higher from a regionally-accredited higher education institution.
  • Experience working with information technology business units and/or sales with IT-related businesses.
  • Experience with grant management and/or implementation of grant awards and reporting.
  • Proficiency in SalesForce.com.
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently.
