About The Position

BAE Systems is hiring a Program Director II to lead a portfolio of precision guided munitions (PGM) and associated weapon systems. In this senior program management role, you will be responsible for a portfolio of leading-edge PGM-based weapon systems, including development, transition to production, and production programs. The Director is responsible for leading and managing a team of senior leaders, providing strategic guidance and oversight to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. This role reports directly to the Vice President of US Weapon Systems and oversees a portfolio valued at over $1B over the next four years. This role is onsite in Maple Grove, MN There will be 25% of travel required

Requirements

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of work experience or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Program Management
  • Experience in Aerospace, Defense, Government Contracting, or related industry
  • Experience leading a large, complex, multi-functional, geographically dispersed team in performance of development, transition to production, and production programs
  • Experience in successfully managing and leading a team of senior leaders
  • Ability to manage, coordinate, plan, organize, control, integrate, and execute a collection of programs
  • Demonstrated ability to recommend and execute a strategic vision through two business cycles
  • Strong business acumen, enabling achievement of financial, schedule, technical, and new business performance objectives
  • Executive presence and ability to represent the enterprise internally at senior levels and externally to senior-level customers and suppliers

Responsibilities

  • Provide portfolio leadership for PGM-based weapon systems, ensuring strategic alignment with customer needs and priorities
  • Manage operational and P&L responsibility for a portfolio of programs, including budgeting and resource allocation
  • Execute strong program management practices, including planning and managing large and complex development, transition to production, and production programs
  • Lead a large, complex, multi-functional, geographically dispersed team in performance of development, transition to production, and production programs
  • Develop, coach, and manage a team of senior leaders, with a focus on building their capabilities and driving business outcomes
  • Recommend and execute a strategic vision to drive business performance
  • Drive performance, operational excellence, and cultural change in a business
  • Ensure achievement of financial, schedule, technical, and new business performance objectives
  • Direct competitive capture activities across the PGM portfolio
  • Participate in the development of financial plans for the company
  • Model and demonstrate strong leadership in ethics, safety, and security
  • Direct people-management responsibility for P&L leaders
  • Collaborate with functional peers to ensure appropriate functional expertise in support of programs
  • Establish relationships with critical customers and suppliers
