About The Position

Oversee, organize, and assign faculty to instruct both the dual credit and general population courses that fall under the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Health Professions degree plan. Assist the academic/workforce dean and the department of P-12 Partnerships in maintaining and facilitating relationships with the administration of all in-county and service area Independent School Districts (ISDs) in order to continue the expansion of the dual credit health science presence at Collin College and with current and future clinical partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for students, faculty and staff within the Health Professions department.
  • Facilitate resolution of student complaints and concerns in a constructive, fair and balanced manner working with faculty, adjunct faculty, academic advisors, Dean of Students Office, and other departments as needed.
  • Collaborate with the P-12 Partnerships office and special admissions coordinators to help manage the college side of the dual credit enrollment process for courses within the Health Sciences and Emergency Services division.
  • Oversee programmatic application processes, interviews, and assignments for dual credit clinical program courses.
  • Provide data and reporting of dual credit programs to P-12 office as requested.
  • Periodically review and recommend changes and improvements to ISD partnerships and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) directly related to assigned disciplines.
  • Provide leadership in the promotion, evaluation and growth of all programs within the Health Professions department.
  • Plan, develop and promote strategies for improving instruction, retention, completion, discipline-specific academic advising, and related initiatives in both dual credit and general population settings.
  • Serve as the primary contact and liaison between the academic division and various disciplines, programs and services to coordinate all Health Science dual credit offerings.
  • Develop course schedules and assign faculty in compliance with academic policies, procedures, and guidelines of Collin College, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
  • Provide direction for long-term strategic enrollment growth utilizing data analysis to drive decisions supporting marketing, recruitment, achievement of goals and implementation of growth strategies to achieve desired targets.
  • Provide leadership in the hiring and performance management of the Health Professions department consistent with core values and the college’s academic standards.
  • Encourage teaching excellence and collaboration to promote academic and student success in the division through performance evaluations, goal setting, and professional development.
  • Regularly review faculty performance and collaborate with the academic/workforce dean to make faculty contract recommendations.
  • Participate in faculty search committees and recommend full-time faculty, associate faculty and staff hires to the academic/workforce dean.
  • Work with P-12 Office and special admissions coordinators to actively recruit qualified high school faculty to teach dual credit courses as embedded faculty.
  • Assist in formulating and recommending the annual budget for all Health Professions programs in order to have proper supplies and maintenance of the labs within the division.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
